Islamabad is the capital city of Pakistan located within the federal Islamabad Capital Territory. With a population of 2.01 million, it is the 9th largest city of Pakistan, while the larger Islamabad-Rawalpindi metropolitan area is the third largest in Pakistan with a population exceeding four million.

Islamabad boasts the highest literacy rate in Pakistan at 88% and has some of the most advanced educational institutes in the country. A large number of public and private sector educational institutes are present here.
